Hall 7, the meeting point for the Swiss national automobile industry.

For the 89th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) 2019, Hall 7 at Palexpo is once again entirely devoted to the Swiss national automobile industry with a presentation of automotive equipment and accessories. Once more, a short exhibition will be presented during the 7-11 March period of the GIMS, and another show for after-sales equipment will run for the entire length of the GIMS.

2019 will mark the third year that the « Swiss Automotive Aftermarket » association have co- organised this short exhibition in Hall 7, which is also known as the « SAA –Expo ». Experts, technicians and entrepreneurs from the world market for automobile accessories will be presenting and inviting visitors to discover the latest local trends and innovations beginning on March 7, 2019. 28 exhibitors will be present in 2019. Also, again this year the SAA will also organise the popular “Drift Challenge”. The SAA-Expo exhibition will occupy half of Hall 7 and will close its doors in the evening of March 11, 2019. More information is available at: www.saa-expo.ch.

The other half of Hall 7 will be occupied for the whole of the opening period of GIMS by exhibitors of automobile equipment vendors and specialists. 18 exhibitors including the ESA enterprise will be presenting during the duration of the GIMS.

For the first time, Hall 7 will be divided transversely for these two trade fairs in order to best accommodate both exhibitions. From March 12, 2019, the entrance will therefore be moved in the direction of Palexpo. For logistical reasons, Hall 7 will open its doors one-half hour earlier than usual from March 12, therefore at 09:30 a.m. during the week and at 08:30 a.m. on the weekends.

Next year there will only be a short version of the special exhibition presented in Hall 7. The GIMS organizing committee is working with the principal actors from all interested parties to elaborate an new concept for the exhibitions in Hall 7 beginning in 2020. “We hope to respond to the needs of the Swiss automobile industry,” explained Maurice Turrettini, the President of the GIMS, “since we do not want to exclude from the GIMS this sector which is an important contributor to the Swiss economy. We must not forget that the Swiss automobile industry represents a total of nearly 90 billion Swiss Francs.” An important part of this comes from the garages in Switzerland who make up an important part of this key industry.

The entry to Hall 7 can be found only a few meters from the train station at the Geneva Airport. When leaving the commercial centre at the airport, just follow the signs to Palexpo.
